“Belle” de la comedie musicale “Notre Dame de Paris” les chanteurs Garou, Patrick Fiori, Daniel Lavoie

This song is a song I am writing about for my french presentation on the french musical “Notre Dame de Paris,” which is a stage performance of the novel.  Basically, it is the non-disney version (REAL VERSION) of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. It is really sad, but beautiful.  Pheobus is an asshole by the way. 

Hmmm….. No, nope, it’s not the “REAL VERSION”. The “real version” happens to be printed on paper. The real version also has a goat, a play, Gringoire and Phoebus going out drinking, a kiss between Frollo and Esmeralda forced on Esmeralda while she’s in shock at Phoebus just being stabbed, no kiss in the dungeon, no mass breakout of Clopin and company as they were never really arrested, and the attack on Notre Dame was actually initially led by Clopin and company, not Frollo, with Quasimodo fighting back against them hard because the poor guy had no clue what was going on. Esmeralda is reunited with her mother, and is then torn away from her to be hanged (which is the second time she was led to the rope - the first time Quasi rescued her and gave us the “Sanctuary!” scene). Flur-de-lys had much less character development and much less of a desperate, passionate personality. Gringoire runs away with his true love, Djali.

And there’s a shitton more because Hugo never really shuts up (and I mean that in the most affectionate way <3). My point is, just ‘cause it’s Disney, just ‘cause it’s animated, don’t act like you’re superior for dismissing it. The musical has about as many deviations from the novel as Disney’s version, believe it or not.
